The diet pyramid in its myriad forms is no longer a good model for healthy eating.

For starters it's got the food that we're supposed to eat less of at the top.

Then, because it was designed by the American dairy and grain associations it focuses milk and cereals in a way that's becoming increasingly detrimental to our health. Grains, of course in our culture is code word for flour.

So in age when we're consuming too much of the two white powders

(flour and sugar) it's time for a new model.

We've designed the Hourglass Diet to bring some sanity back into the nutrition dilemma and explain in simple terms which foods to eat more of and which to eat less of. In a nutshell it encourages you to eat the good food from the top of the hourglass and steer clear of the junk at the bottom. It looks like this.
